Oh shit! I cant believe I found this. It's a track I went apeshit for during my club-rat days. Shawn Smith (one of my favorite singers from the now defunct Seattle band Satchel) doing a collaboration with Low Fidelity Allstars.
I'm suddenly overwhelmed by memories of sweaty crowds of beautiful people, judicious shots of Patron, blow, e, making out with complete strangers in the ladies room...

I dont why, but I'm suddenly reminded of Jonathan Brandis. I've seen the dude from Quiet Riot on a few VH1 shows and he always seemed like the guy that's, deep down, very miserable over the fact he's not a 'star' anymore.

I've been going back to this band this last week, I find something irresistibly pretty yet sorta chilling about this song's verse melody:

And another more pop tinged favourite:

They're just one of those bands that could get a little too crazy at times and loose the plot on some of their songs, but when they nailed it they really fucking nailed it. Some of the vocal melodies they've come up with are just amazing, especially when the lead and backing vocals play off each other. The minimalist approach to the instruments also creates a truly impressive atmosphere that I just love.

I always liked them. I think it's funny how most of the bands that I liked better when it was cooler to be "more hard core" are playing county fairs and these guys are still going stronger than ever. Who'dve thunk it back in the day?
