Well, we had tie between PER ARDUA AD ASTRA and
RECEDENTIA ULTRA ASTRUM, with four votes a peice.

However...Spock, you just cast a tie-breaker for RECEDENTIA ULTRA ASTRUM...so that's going to be ST(R)'s Starfleet Motto unless there's a sudden influx of votes for PER ARDUA AD ASTRA before the day is out.

The autumn days swung soft around me, like cotton on my
skin. But as the embers of the summer lost their breath
and disappeared, my heart went cold, and only hollow
rhythms resounded from within.

'Amicus' is a really good name for a boy. Hmmm...

I'm going to give all my kids unisex names.

If you wanted to check it out, the subject of alternate history is also addressed in the second from the top entry of the Essays section (For Now We See Through a Glass, Darkly).

He really wasn't the radical people make him out to be. Otherwise, it was a very chillingly possible scenario.
