I might as well unload these... I wrote them a while back for the "Strange New Worlds" contest (which has since ended for good after 10 years, I was lucky to get in before the end, methinks!) but these were the ones that didn't get picked. There are probably good reasons why... I'm not sure I'm as particularly fond of them as I was the one that I did publish. The last story in particular isn't so great, but... -shrug-
Um, I'm not sure I can upload a .doc file on this board, so you'll have to go here to get them: http://www.theastrobar.com/showthread.php?p=22830#post22830
"The Infinite Perfectionist" - A Borg steps through the Guardian of Forever, shattering and rewriting time into a massive jumble, and only Q, Guinan and a bartender who should be a starship captain named Christopher Pike can put things right.
"The Kobayashi Maru Melancholy" - Geordi La Forge's desperate quest to revive his dead android friend leads him to make questionable moral choices. Is it alright to kill one unique life form to save another?
"Russian Roulette" - The Enterprise is disabled orbiting a planet embroiled in a dangerous cold war. Her engines could overload at any moment, vaporizing one side of the planet, or the other.
"Wagon Train" - In the old West, Army Captain James T. Kirk, Spock, Doc McCoy and the rest of the fighting 1701st try to protect a mining town from a gang of raiders led by a vicious thug named Kang.

I can host them for you here, dude. Mind if I set that up?
In fact, I could create a site feature. Is there any other work you'd like to put up as well?

Sure, that'd be cool. As for other stuff, I'll see what I've got but I have a lot of junk I'm shopping around right now, so I'd probably rather keep that off the internet until I've heard back about things.
Hey man, I'm sorry my writing here fell off. I had kind of a rough last long while. 2007 was... not a happy time... and I've been trying to start making some money off my writing so I haven't really had the time or the energy for (no offense) 'side projects'. Hell, I've barely had time for the stuff I'm truly serious about (Please, Dark Horse Comics, call me back soon; I want to brag about working for the same company as Joss Whedon...)
At some point, I'd love to write another one of these episodes, but I just don't know when that'll be possible.

Interesting...Is this a story that you have already written or is it in the works?

I wrote these over a year ago for Simon Schuster's "Strange New Worlds" contest, but I didn't win that year. I did take third prize the previous year for the very first story I wrote, but I don't think I can share that one over the web. I'm pretty sure Pocket owns it now.
I put a link in my original post where you can download these. Unless for some reason that's not working... But I guess Jer might put them up here?

I didn't care for a lot of his later appearances (except for "All Good Things..." ) but I agree, he was a lot of fun. John de Lancie was great in the role, too. I loved watching him and Patrick Stewart together.

Q, the De Kelley cameo, and Data's scenes - the only really redeeming features of "Encounter at Farpoint."

Sure. Whenever it's easiest for you. I'm almost done with High and Dry, and I plan on moving right along through the last three. However, if you want to do one of them, just say the word and it's yours. The summaries aren't going to be something for everyone to see anymore, so if you need one, just let me know.
By the way, you taught me everything I know about the process of turning my stories into scripts, Ben. Thank you.

That'd be great, though like I said, I dunno when that'll be. Part of the reason I'm finally taking a few days off is just to decompress. But I'm sure I'll be back to my usual ultra-busy self by Monday.
Well I'm glad to have been a part of the project so far, and that I've apparently managed to impart some kind of knowledge. I think really the hardest thing about writing for the screen is getting that format - it's really kind of dry when you think about it, very basic and to the point. The flair sort of has to shine through this very restrictive set of rules. I think my personal strength has always been dialogue more than plot, so I felt like getting the plots from you and then basically putting my voices in it was a great... what's the word... synergy?

'All About The Benjamin'---cool addition, and the first story was a fun read. Like the inclusion of Pike as opposed to the usual suspects...Looking forward to the rest.

Right. Whenever that time is. It can be in the middle of season 2, sometime sooner or sometime later. Whenever.

Y'know, that's the one I most wished I'd included a SASE with my submission so I could get feedback from Dean.
