Jer, I've seen parts of the first two...they're just not my thing.
Up there we were heroes, fighting robot bitches...

Crowd: Free us from thought and responsibility.
Priest: Your words guide us.
Crowd: We are dumb.

And I wasn't trying to change your mind. I thought we were having a conversation.
The autumn days swung soft around me, like cotton on my
skin. But as the embers of the summer lost their breath
and disappeared, my heart went cold, and only hollow
rhythms resounded from within.

We are...I was just saying that they're not my cup of tea. Obviously lots of people like them, and I don't have an issue with that. I'm not saying that people who enjoy "Saw" and similar films shouldn't watch them.

This reminds me of the time when I hit my best friend because she didn't like Garden State. Also, she was pregnant.

Time, bubbling under, I will rise, I will train
Then I can only sing of the true nature of things
and I'll feel the pain I won't feel again
and I will rise to the other side where I'll stay, and I'll stand, tall as Centrepoint

Though I do think that when it comes to younger people, extremely violent entertainment (of any sort) is far more harmful than sexually explicit material, yet parents let young kids watch bloody action and horror movies, yet freak out if they see a tit. I find myself reminded of Larry Flynt's infamous "which is pornographic?" presentation.
As far as adults who understand reality vs. fiction, people should be able to enjoy whatever entertainment they like that doesn't involve intentional harm to others.

I don't agree...at all!
Please ban this website!
"Don't ever take away from me my pornography
Obviously, we don't agree on what's obscene
I have the right to choose what I want to see and read,
Don't ever try to take away from me my right to privacy
Because what I do is no one's business but me!
So stay in your missionary position, I hope that you'll get bored to death,
There's no way in hell I'm going through life having vanilla sex!
The governement is trying to get in your bedroom
Better lock your door and close your shades
Because there could be someone watching you today..."

I just found an interesting interview with horror author and "Hellraiser" producer Clive Barker. He's been involved with horror storytelling for many years - obviously this is just his opinion, though.
NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - The rise of horror movies dubbed torture porn has author Clive Barker wary about people using the H-word around his work.
British-born Barker, 55, has written about 20 books, earning himself the title of "the father of fantasy horror," with his writing characterized by hidden fantastical worlds and the role of the supernatural.
...
Barker spoke to Reuters about writing -- and that H-word:
Q: So you wouldn't call your books horror?
A: "I am not sure the H word -- horror -- is terribly useful. I think it is fine if you are describing the movie "Hostel" but "Mister B. Gone" does not fall into that category. It is about the word and the power of the word told through the confessional of a demon who has had a pretty bad lot in life."
Q: Has the definition of horror changed?
A: "Horror has changed and it is not to my taste at all. My kind of fiction has always been laced with the supernatural and I have no interest in watching people taken apart limb by limb just because special effects can pull those things off. I'm not entertained by the spectacle and feel faintly dirty by it."
Q: But didn't "Hellraiser" face the same criticism?
A: " "Hellraiser" always had the element of the fantastic and that is its get-out clause. It is my way of saying that I take the subject matter seriously because I take the business of good and evil seriously. I think describing me as fantasy-horror is on the money as that is where I am. To me denuding horror of its fantastical elements is dangerous."
