Teaser
The teaser functions in it?s entirety as a montage. There is no dialogue whatsoever through-out this entire act. In fact, there is no audio at all, save for this; it?s a portion of the 1960 farewell-address by American president Dwight Eisenhower set to a single piano.
We begin with the Kirks, George and Wynona, cleaning up the mess left by the tornado that almost destroyed their home. We can see faint pinkish orange rays, indicating sunrise is just around the corner, illuminating the Iowa homestead exterior. Dr. McCoy is absent. Fade to Doctors Daystrom and Chapel on the bottom level of the secret chamber in the interior of the Mitchells? building. Richard, looking cool and distant, is collecting debris left over from the remaining android. Panning down to Chapel, she?s trying to hold back tears as she is sweeping two different piles of ashes?Mitchell?s and Dehner?s?into a pair of containers. Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock are both absent. Segue to the hospital building where Pike is resting in bed; a nurse is tending to him as we are tracking in on his vacant, expressionless, face.
Fade to the Brussels cityscape, then cut to the office of Councilwoman Nava, sipping on coffee as she watches a news program. The activity on the screen indicates that the coming war is the sole topic of discussion; on-screen text reveals that the joint-armada is now less than two days away from the Gorn homeworld. Cut to a fine-dining restaurant, the urban Brussels vista visible through the window. Sitting at a small table with two aides, TU President Cornelius Thorne watches the same program that Nava had been. Dissolve to the busy orbit of Delta IV, then cut to a bustling military command center. General Vitus walks the aisles. Segue to the planet Vulcan. Tracking in a particular spire-like structure, we fade to a small room where Councilman Sarek is meditating. Fade to a bullet-train snaking along the bay shore in San Francisco. Cutting to the interior of the train, we see that Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock are the only passengers aboard. They are silent and contemplative. Cut to the beautiful Earth skies at dawn. The personal transport, belonging to the android, that McCoy and Wynona had discovered flies by the camera. In the interior, we see Bones piloting the craft.
Dissolve to the joint Starfleet/Deltan armada flying at warp in formation. We close in on the on the Saint, then cut to Captain Redspire sitting at her desk in the anteroom, staring out the view-port; then, seeming to be looking back through space at her, Captain Esteban is doing the same thing in the anteroom of the Grissom. Continuing that theme, we segue to Colonel Amaro in his quarters, aboard the lead Deltan ship, gazing out at the fleet. Closing in on the Enterprise, we cut to the bridge, where Chief Sulu is engaged in some sort of busy work at the helm. Fade to the corridor as three familiar faces?Lieutenant M?Ress, Engineer?s Mate Kyle and Chief DeFalco (her head wrapped up in a bandage-like cap)?pass by one another exchanging nervous glances (the intent being to show their shared dread over the coming war). Elsewhere on the Enterprise, Demora and Professor Ilia are in the middle of a conversation. They are standing at a junction of corridors, looking nervous and speaking quietly (though we cannot hear what they are saying). Mora appears incredulous, yet morbidly interested. The camera rounds the corner, to reveal Admiral Nogura listening to them.
Back on Earth, we cut to the marina where Dr. Daystrom keeps his yacht the Lady MacBeth. Kirk and Spock are walking along the dock towards the yacht. Dissolve to the transport McCoy is piloting; it descends and comes to a rest on the landing pad of the MacBeth. Cut to the Starry Night mural on the ceiling of the yacht?s lower level (it takes up the entire frame). Panning down, we track in on the backs of Kirk, Spock and McCoy. They're all looking at something, and as the camera moves in over their shoulders, the project Daystrom had been working on (the one he kept under the tarp) is revealed: it?s a unique and sleek looking space-craft.
The autumn days swung soft around me, like cotton on my
skin. But as the embers of the summer lost their breath
and disappeared, my heart went cold, and only hollow
rhythms resounded from within.

Something that can catch up to the fleet I hope...
I am continually amazed by this whole storyline. Its absolutely wonderful.
I am still starting my petition to rename the Spirit Of St Louis from "The Saint" to "Spirit".

The Sarfleet/Deltan joint-armada is three weeks away at warp. And given Nogura's communications blackout, a subspace message is out too. It would seem they're fucked. War with the Gorn is going to be a tragic reality (sort of like another little war based on lies). At least that's the jeapordy plot-point I'm hoping an audience would take away.
However, that doesn't mean that Daystrom's little prototype ship excelerates in exactly the same manner as other vessels.

*blushing like a schoolgirl*
My thanx, as always, Sprirt.
It's been fun if exhausting getting here. The really frustrating part was my own familiarity with everything. Since this has all been in my head for two years now, it was like I was repeating myself.

What the hell. Done. That's how it'll read in the teleplays. The first mention comes in WTGA, so I'll make sure that one of us, either myself or Joe, makes the change.
It's gonna be sorta like how Luke was Blue 5 in the script and Red 5 in the movie.
Wonder what prompted that, anyway?
HAMILL: "George, look, blue is for whiney shitheads. And you've already made me enough of one of those. Make me red, or I walk."

I thought it might be transwarp, or slipstream. Guess I was right.

Harder to Breath kicks much ass, actually.

It's a great song to crank up really, really loud when you're fighting with something rusty and obnoxious in the garage.

I may like Maroon 5 but I would never pay to see them in concert.
Nimoy's got a sexy brain.

Sorry about the delay on this one, folks. I was having a little trouble with how to structure this first act. I couldn't make a freaking decision; I hate it when I do that!
Anyway, I've got it ironed out and should have it up this weekend.
